3. Lawmakers share legislative priorities: The Maryland General Assembly convened last week in Annapolis. MCM spoke with lawmakers from Montgomery County to hear their priorities for this session. With a $1.4 billion budget deficit, some priorities include affordability and addressing rising costs, protecting immigrants, and growing the state’s economy.
4. Senator Kagan sets her agenda: MCM also recently spoke with Cheryl Kagan, who has served the residents of Gaithersburg and Rockville in the Maryland State Senate for more than a decade now. Known for her pragmatic approach to problem solving, Senator Kagan shared her agenda for the 2026 General Assembly with MCM.
