Declaring a “CODE RED,” Montgomery County Public Schools announced schools will not be open on Wednesday or Thursday.
Citing continued clean up and restoration efforts as still underway, the system acknowledged frigid temperatures and slow snow and ice removal were factors in the cancellation of classes.

With conditions for travel and school operations remaining unsafe, schools will stay closed.
