An adult woman died in a house fire Friday morning in Montgomery County, police said.
Officers with the Montgomery County Police Department and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to a report of a house fire at around 6:52 a.m. April 3 in the 4700 block of Merivale Road in Chevy Chase, according to police.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
No additional information about the condition of the injured individual has been released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
