Korean Culture and Art of Maryland promotes individual artistry and character, and provides opportunities to encounter Korean traditional performing arts to establish an identity for Korean Americans.  Join Vocales Verticales for an afternoon of poetry and writing. How can we use poetry as a tool for resistance? Discover how others did it before and write some poems! Roque Dalton was a prominent Salvadoran poet and political activist, born in San Salvador, El Salvador. Born in 1935 and assassinated in 1975, he was an influential figure in the history of Latin America as a poet, essayist, intellectual, and revolutionary. Beyond his achievements as a poet are his political writings and political work in his native El Salvador. His literary contributions, including the award-winning works "Dos puños por la tierra" and "El turno del ofiendido," reflected violence and injustice in El Salvador. In English, Spanish, and Spanglish.

Whether you're an aspiring performer or simply curious about the stage, there’s something for everyone to explore and enjoy.At the heart of the day is “Behind the Curtain,” a special presentation led by Artistic Director Jason Loewith alongside our artistic and production teams. This behind-the-scenes experience offers a rare look into how a show evolves from a simple idea to a full-scale production.
