Montgomery Community Media CEO Jasmine White Receives Sue Miller Buske Leadership Award

ROCKVILLE, Md. – June 30, 2026 – Montgomery Community Media (MCM) is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Jasmine N. White has been selected as the recipient of the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) Sue Miller Buske Leadership Award, recognizing her outstanding leadership, dedication to community media, and commitment to advancing equity, accessibility, and civic engagement.

White brings more than 20 years of experience in multimedia production, organizational leadership, and community engagement to her role at MCM. Since becoming CEO, she has led the organization’s strategic vision, operations, fundraising efforts, and community impact initiatives.

Prior to serving as CEO, White held several leadership positions throughout the community media industry. She served as Executive Director of Capital Community Media in Salem, Oregon, and previously worked at MCM as Director of Education and Community Engagement. She also held leadership roles at DCTV in Washington, D.C., overseeing Production Services, Creative Services, and the organization’s Youth Training Institute. White has additional experience as an independent producer for content focused on social justice issues.

White also has a long history of service to the broader community media field. She is the immediate past Board Chair of ACM’s national board of directors, where she advocated for inclusion, equity, engagement, and accessibility across the industry.

“I’m truly honored by this recognition.  For me, this work has always been about the unique power of community media to keep people connected, tell stories that matter, and create space for more voices to be heard,” said White.

White earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Ramapo College of New Jersey, a Master of Arts in Film and Video from American University, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of the District of Columbia.

The Sue Miller Buske Leadership Award honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership in community media and who have made significant contributions to advancing the field through innovation, service, and advocacy.

White received the award at the national 2026 ACM annual conference in Madison, Wisconsin on June 24.
