Purple Line upgrades community grants

The Purple Line Transit Partners (PLTP) is increasing the value and quantity of Beyond the Rails community grants.

The program launched in fall 2023, and PLTP has awarded over $130,000 to a variety of organizations in efforts to improve Purple Line communities. PLTP is updating the Beyond the Rails community grants in two ways:

  • Community organizations may now apply for grants of up to $5,000, an increase from the current $3,000 maximum
  • 16 grants will be awarded per year, up from the original 12, with 8 grants awarded in summer and 8 in winter.

The grants go to groups dedicated to causes benefiting local residents.

“We’ve visited nearly all of the organizations we support to gain a deeper understanding of what they do, and we’re constantly inspired by their tireless efforts to better the lives of individuals along the Purple Line corridor,” said Doran Bosso, PLTP Chief Executive Officer. “That’s why we’re excited to expand our grant program and provide even greater benefit to Purple Line communities.”

Community groups are invited to apply by completing a two-page application. The application deadline for the next round of grants is November 30, 2026. Applications are currently being accepted.
