A suspect has been arrested in connection with a July 10 stabbing at the Angry Jerk restaurant in Silver Spring.
Mark Reginald Melton, 34, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder. According to the Montgomery County Police Department, the stabbing occurred at around 10:30 p.m. The suspect entered the men’s room of the restaurant and repeatedly stabbed the victim before leaving the scene, police say.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries.
Using surveillance video and descriptions provided by patrons, the police narrowed their search to Melton, who had no fixed address.
Melton was arrested in Washington, D.C. by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Task Force. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and other related charges.
He is currently being held without bond in the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
