Town Hall on Impacts of Solid Waste Changes: From 7-8:30 p.m. at the county’s Highway Services Depot in Rockville, Councilmembers Dawn Luedtke and Sidney Katz will host a town hall meeting about a proposal to take county waste by truck and dispose of it at an out-of-county landfill. 3. Coffee With a Cop: From 9-11 a.m. at PJ’s Coffee on Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg, residents can join officers of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police for coffee and conversation. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know local officers. See more here
4. Birds of the DMV: From 2-3 p.m. at Little Falls Library in Bethesda, residents can learn about birds of the DMV with local wildlife biologist and ornithologist Dan Rauch and his photographs. See more here
5. ICYMI: A one-day event at Morgan State University on Saturday, Oct. 3 could put more Montgomery County Scouts on the path to Eagle rank, badges some of them have never had access to. For many, it would be their first time on a college campus. Read more here
