Media Mentorship Program

The MCM Media Mentorship Program is a unique, community-driven initiative designed to empower older adults (ages 55 and over), veterans, and returning citizens with the tools, training, and support they need to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape. The program recognizes the immense value of lived experience and seeks to turn that experience into opportunity through hands-on media education and professional mentorship.

Participants in the program receive free access to MCM’s comprehensive multimedia training courses, where they learn essential skills in video production, audio storytelling, and digital content creation. These courses are designed not only to teach technical proficiency but also to encourage creativity, collaboration, and confidence in using media to share powerful stories that inform, educate, and inspire.

In addition to the formal training, participants are paired with media professionals and industry leaders who serve as mentors throughout the program. These mentors provide personalized guidance, career advice, and insight into the real-world workings of the media industry. Through one-on-one mentorship sessions and networking opportunities, participants learn how to leverage their new skills into meaningful, sustainable careers in media and communications.

The MCM Media Mentorship Program plays a vital role in supporting economic recovery and personal growth in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. By helping participants develop marketable media skills, the program not only fosters workforce readiness but also promotes inclusion, empowerment, and lifelong learning.

Ultimately, this program is about more than training — it’s about transformation. It gives participants the confidence and opportunity to tell their own stories, contribute to their communities, and build lasting careers in a media industry that values diverse voices and experiences.
