Olney Theatre Center, 2001 Olney Sandy Spring Rd, Olney, MD 20832, USABranden Jacobs-Jenkins’ searing satire of a family digging through their recently deceased patriarch’s crumbling estate is both gut-splittingly funny and shocking in its confrontation of conveniently forgotten family history. DC-luminaries Kimberly Gilbert (Angels in America) and Cody Nickell (Ink) star as siblings battling over the possession and meaning of their father’s dark patrimony. As the rest of the family descends on the ancestral property in rural Arkansas, old rivalries and grudges are eclipsed by the moral weight of what they find. Staged in our black box Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab, this will be a unique staging of one of the most important American plays of the past 15 years.

Silver Spring B&O Station April Open House: Streamlined Trains
April 4, 2026 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Silver Spring B&O Railroad Station, 8100 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910, USASpecial Feature: “Streamlined Trains” from 11 am to 12 pm Railroads have played an enormous role in America’s development and culture, none more dramatic in public perception than the iconic 20th-century locomotive and passenger cars designs for the Country’s high end railroad passengers and luxury trains. Beginning in the 1930s, Art Deco emerged as a prominent design theme. For railroads, Art Deco was manifested in streamlining, smooth design and innovative use of interior space and function. Using commentary and slides, David Vaughn will trace and illustrate these dramatic developments, using as examples the works of and rivalry between two well-known 20th-century industrial designers: Raymond Loewy and Henry Dreyfus.
You can also enjoy train spotting and waving at the engineers, a model layout, a toy train play set, photos and memorabilia of the railroad’s glory days and historic Silver Spring, and more!

April 5, 2026 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Gallery B, 7700 Wisconsin Ave E, Bethesda, MD 20814, USAPainters Kathleen Byrnes and Jennifer Howard exhibit their works at Gallery B in November 2025 Kathleen Byrnes has taken to working plein aire, challenging her to work quickly and spontaneously. Byrnes uses the environment to infuse the canvas with mood and emotion. Jennifer Howard is a painter and graphic designer who has lived and worked in Washington, DC for over 37 years. Her paintings are about the moment, the immediacy of paint applied honestly, thickly and emotionally on canvas. She strives to convey a textural quality to the surface with layers of color and an emphasis on capturing light.
The exhibition runs from November 6 – November 30. Gallery hours are Thursdays-Saturdays, 12-5pm, and Sundays 11am-2pm. The gallery will be closed November 27-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Appropriate
April 10, 2026 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

I & You: The Musical
April 22, 2026 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Olney Theatre Center, 2001 Olney Sandy Spring Rd, Olney, MD 20832, USAIn 2015, Olney Theatre produced the Rolling World Premiere of I And You by Lauren Gunderson, which went on to become one of the most-produced plays in America. Now, we’re bringing you the World Premiere of the musical adaptation of her hit play. Anthony turns up in Caroline’s bedroom one night bearing waffle fries, a beat-up book, and a homework assignment they’re supposed to do together: explore Walt Whitman’s poem “Song of Myself.” Chronically sick, Caroline hasn’t been to school in a while… and can’t even remember meeting some kid named Anthony, which dials up both her suspicions and her “snark-o-meter.” But as the two get to know each other, they finally learn of the deeper mystery that brought them together. Whitman’s powerful poetry inspires the music and lyrics by American Idol veteran Ari Afsar, which expands the magic of Gunderson’s remarkable story.

Gallery B Presents "Color + Light, Part Two"
April 26, 2026 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Gallery B, 7700 Wisconsin Ave E, Bethesda, MD 20814, USAPainters Kathleen Byrnes and Jennifer Howard exhibit their works at Gallery B in November 2025 Kathleen Byrnes has taken to working plein aire, challenging her to work quickly and spontaneously. Byrnes uses the environment to infuse the canvas with mood and emotion. Working in predominantly oil, Byrnes has produced works that explore the light and structure of urban Washington DC, the Virginia and Maryland country side, as well as the inlets, bay, ocean and marshlands of Southern New Jersey.

I & You: The Musical
April 29, 2026 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
