“Many of you may be aware that I have been absent from the office this week,” McKnight said in a letter sent to staff last Friday. “I have been dealing with a medical condition that required hospitalization. I am home now, getting better every day, and looking forward to getting back to the office. In the meantime, Mr. Brian Hull, MCPS Chief Operating Officer, will serve as acting superintendent, and I know that all of you have continued the hard work of our entire district.”

Hull was appointed chief operations officer in July 2022.
