And the Beat Goes On: Quince Orchard’s Defense Dominates in 41-6 Win Over Northwest

Quince Orchard forced five turnovers and scored three defensive touchdowns in its 41-6 victory over Northwest, moving to 8-0 for the season. The Cougars have now won 22 straight games since the start of the 2021 season.

Quince Orchard came away with two takeaways in the first quarter alone. Defensive back Shae Terry recovered a fumble on Northwest’s opening possession. Linebacker Kendall Johnson returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown on Northwest’s next drive.

In the third quarter, Quince Orchard linebackers Matthieu Longa and Angel Palaez each intercepted a pass from Northwest quarterback Nicky Holloway. Palaez returned his interception for a 16-yard touchdown, outrunning Northwest’s offensive linemen down the sideline on his way to the end zone.

Despite trailing by just seven points at halftime, Northwest was unable to keep up with a Quince Orchard team that scored 28 points unanswered in the second half. Quince Orchard running back Isaiah Blackman scored from two yards out on the Cougars opening second-half possession to start the scoring run.

Quince Orchard (8-0) will look to complete their undefeated regular season next week against Clarksburg (0-8).

Northwest (3-5) will face off against Whitman (0-8) as they look to end their regular season on a high note.
