Applications Open for Multiple County Positions

Montgomery County is seeking applicants for multiple positions — public election fund committee member, representative on the Board of Investment Trustees for Employee Plans and representative on the Board of Trustees for the Consolidated Retiree Health Benefits Trust.

Public Election Fund Committee

The Montgomery County Council has extended the deadline to submit applications for the seven-member committee that recommends funding for the county’s Public Election Fund.

The committee is composed of seven county residents that serve four-year terms beginning on May 1 of the first year of the council’s  term of office. The committee can have no more than three members from the same political party and should reflect the diversity of Montgomery County with a range of races, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, ages and other characteristics.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on May 6. A cover letter expressing interest, a resume no more than four pages in length, home address, political affiliation, phone number and email address should be sent via email and addressed to Council President Andrew Friedson. It can also be sent via mail to Friedson at 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland 20850.

Board of Investment Trustees for the Employee Retirement Plans

The council is seeking applicants to serve as representatives for two Board of Trustees — the county’s Employee Retirement Plans and the Consolidated Retiree Health Benefits Trust.

These boards set investment policies, evaluate investment managers and monitor the performance of trust funds. The first term of council representative, Christine Kelleher, expired in March 2024. She will apply for reappointment, according to a county press release.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on May 20. A cover letter expressing interest, including a resume, listing professional and civic experiences, phone number, home mailing address and email address should be emailed to Friedson. It can also be mailed at Stella B. Werner Council Office Building, 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland 20850.

Council staff may request a redacted resume to include as part of the information shared with the public. Interviews will be open to the public and televised.
