Applications opened for MCDOT Highway Service’s 3rd Annual “Paint The Plow’ Contest, with the deadline to apply set for April 12.
The contest consists of local middle school students painting county snow removal trucks, with judges selecting winners based on unique name, creativity and neatness.
The county drops snow plows off at competing schools on Monday, May 6. Each school’s students have till Thursday, May 16 to complete their artwork.
Judges select winners during the Truck Day Celebration on Saturday, May 18, at 17000 Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville.
The winning school receives $500, with $300 and $200 awarded to the second and third-place schools.
