Board of Elections Recruiting Poll Workers for Upcoming Election Season

On National Poll Worker Recruitment Day, the county’s Board of Elections is calling on civic-minded voters to serve as poll workers during the upcoming election season.

Early voting starts May 2024, said Dr. Gilberto Zelaya, public information officer for the Board of Elections.

Wednesday is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day, as established by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, per a release from the Board of Elections.

On Wednesday, residents can sign-up to be an election worker at multiple locations in Montgomery County:

  • 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Board of Elections at 18753 North Frederick Ave., Suite 210 in Gaithersburg
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Wheaton, Marilyn J. Praisner, and Rockville Memorial libraries
  • 5-7 p.m. at the Connie Morella (Bethesda), Gaithersburg and Brigadier General Charles E. McGee (Silver Spring) libraries

Also, residents can apply by texting “serve” to 77788. More information can be found on the Board of Elections website at 777vote.org. Anyone with questions can call 240-777-8500.

Those interested must be at least 16 years old, a U.S. citizen and a registered voter in Maryland. Bilingual/multilingual applicants are encouraged.
