Bomb Threat at Westfield Montgomery Mall Deemed ‘Not Valid’

Reports of a bomb threat interrupted an otherwise typical Friday night at Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda.

The mall was evacuated as a precaution as police investigated the threat. About an hour later, police determined the threat was “not valid.” According to police, the mall was cleared and turned back over to mall security.

Westfield Montgomery issued he following statement to MCM: “At Westfield Montgomery, the safety of our customers, retailers and employees is always our primary concern. We are thankful that everyone is safe following this incident, and we are incredibly grateful for the quick action of MCPD to protect our community.”
