A very happy and “cancer free” U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin is celebrating by announcing his bid for reelection.
The ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability is holding a virtual kick off party featuring Little Steven (Steven Van. Zandt) of the E Street Band.
Little Stevie gave Raskin one of his bandanas to wear when he lost his hair due to his chemotherapy treatments. The May 23 party is being called “Bandanas Across America.”
The Democrat was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in December 2022.
There was speculation that he would run for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Ben Cardin, but he apparently has chosen to continue his work in the House of Representatives.
