Capital Bikeshare Prices Go Up August 1

On Friday, Aug. 1, Capital Bikeshare will update its pricing model for some users and trips.

Annual membership will increase from $95 to $120 per year. Corporate membership will increase from $50 to $70. University memberships will increase to $30 starting January 1, 2o26.

For members, the 30-day pass will increase from $20 to $25 and the single-day pass will increase from $8 to $10.

Ebike fees will increase for all members from 10 cents to 15 cents per minute. All members will also pay a $2 fee to park ebikes outside of docking stations. Non-members will pay a $3 fee.

Capital Bikeshare for All, the affordable pricing model for low-income users, will also see an increased ebike fee of 10 cents per minute.

In a statement on their website, Capital Bikeshare explains the program received “unprecedented ridership” with an all-time high in October 2024 of 725,346 trips. In 2025, they surpassed their single-day ridership record, hitting 35,569 trips during the Cherry Blossom Festival. Capital Bikeshare will continue to expand service, adding more stations and upgrading old ones.
