Capital Classic 2026: Baba Oladotun, Katie Diao Represent Montgomery County at Capital One Arena

Several high school basketball players from Montgomery County will get their chance to shine at the 53rd Annual Capital Classic April 4 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Baba Oladotun, who helped James Hubert Blake High win a Maryland state basketball title, headlines the boys roster. Oladotun will play for the Capital team that will face a squad made up of players from around the country. Oladotun will be joined by his teammate, guard Armani Fowlkes on the Capital team.

Katie Diao from Richard Montgomery High will play for the Capital team in the girls game. Diao just wrapped up an impressive career for the Rockets and is headed to play guard at Yale next season.

The Capital Classic is one of the most prestigious high school basketball All-American games in the nation, bringing together the next generation of basketball superstars. It’s a showcase game between the best players in the Washington, D.C. region versus the best players throughout the United States.

This year, these high school athletes will have the opportunity to compete at Capital One Arena – the marquee basketball venue that is home to the NBA’s Washington Wizards. The girls game starts at 10:30 a.m. while the boys game starts at noon.
