Commission on Aging Offers Information Sessions

Montgomery County’s Commission on Aging wants older county residents to learn about the resources available to them.

Volunteers from the Commission’s Ambassador Program will run sessions around the county throughout April and May. The meetings will allow participants to share their needs and interests, the county said.

Topics at the meetings include volunteer opportunities in the community, access to free medical equipment like walkers and free transportation options for those 60 and older.

“I appreciate our ambassadors helping us inform residents about vital county resources and also ensure their voices are heard,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “I thank the Commission on Aging for hosting these events, and I hope residents will attend these sessions as we work together to support and empower our older adult residents.”

The time and location for the meetings are as follows:

Tuesday, April 23: 10 to 11 a.m. White Oak Senior Center, 1700 Apple Lane, Silver Spring.

Wednesday, April 24: 1 to 2 p.m. East County Village Seniors, East County Community Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring.
