County Animal Services Reduces Adoption Fees Through March 10

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC) in Derwood celebrating 10 years of service by reducing adoption fees to $10 from now through March 10. MCASAC opened its doors ten years ago on March 2, 2014.

“Adopting an animal from our shelter can provide families with years of joy and unconditional love,” said County Executive Marc Elrich in a statement. “I want to thank the Friends of Montgomery County Animals for sponsoring this event and helping us celebrate 10 years of success and progress in improving the lives of animals in our community. If you are considering adding a pet to your family, please visit our shelter and have our staff help you find a furry friend for your home.”

The shelter processes adoptions on a first-come, first-served basis and does  not require appointments. Adoptions are same day.

Interested community members can complete the adoption questionnaire here or fill out a copy when they arrive.  The animal services website describes the process to adopt a pet in more detail. The facility is open for adoptions seven days a week. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; and noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center is located at 7315 Muncaster Mill Road in Derwood.
