Montgomery County transportation officials want to install solar energy panels at four of its parking garages in Silver Spring, but the work would reduce the number of available parking spaces, according to the county’s office of transportation engineering.
Parking would be impacted at the following garages:
- Bonifant Dixon Garage 5 located at 1101 Bonifant Street — 127 fewer spaces
- Cameron Street Garage 7 located at 8530 Cameron Street — 150 fewer spaces
- Fenton Street Garage 4 located at 8110 Fenton Street — 36 fewer spaces
- Kennett Street Garage 9 located at 8040 Kennett Street — 66 fewer spaces
A public hearing on the installation is set for Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.
