The three Montgomery County councilmembers running for County Executive in the June primary announced their fundraising totals on Thursday.

Councilmember Andrew Friedson

Andrew Friedson raised more than $1 million dollars since June of 2025 with $1.85 million on hand.

“I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming support our campaign has received, particularly the incredible surge of energy we’ve seen as we start this election year,” Friedson said in a news release. “This isn’t just about resources; it’s about a shared belief that Montgomery County can be more affordable, more competitive, and more effective for every family and every local business.”

Councilmember Will Jawando

Will Jawando, who is using public financing, raised more than $706,000 altogether. Contributions from individuals total $205,261. That amounted to $500,954 from public finance matching funds.

“Montgomery County’s next County Executive should be accountable to the people, not developers and special interests,” Jawando said.  “While others rely on big checks, we’ve built this campaign one $25 and $50 donation at a time. These are contributions from teachers, nurses, small business owners, and families who believe we need a County Executive who answers to them.”

Councilmember Evan Glass

Evan Glass has raised $656,000. $145,611 came from more than individual donations and $510,516 from public financing funds.

“People are supporting this campaign because Montgomery County is at a critical moment and we need a leader who can deliver real solutions for real people,” Glass said in a news release. “This shows our message about housing affordability, improving our schools and protecting our neighbors is resonating in every corner of the county –– and we’re only getting started.”

Other Candidates

Also running for County Executive are Shelly Skolnick, who has raised $1,000, and Mithun Banerjee, who did not list any contributions.
