County Hosts 15th Annual Tribute to America’s Veterans Concert

The 15th Annual Tribute to America’s Veterans Concert takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post 41 in Silver Spring. This is a free concert open to all. Those planning to attend should RSVP by email to lisa@silverspringtowncenter.com.

The concert features the Gigi Mac Band with Brazilian Bossa Nova music. The band features an ensemble of musicians— vocalist and accordionist Gigi MacLaughlin, guitarist John Lee, drummer Juan Megna, and bass player Steve Sachse.

Retired Major General Richard W. Thomas is the keynote speaker at the tribute. Thomas is a physician healthcare executive and is the Associate Vice President, Dean and Chief Medical Officer at West Virginia University School of Medicine, Eastern Campus in Martinsburg, W.Va. He most recently served as the sixth President of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU).

The Silver Spring Town Center Inc. presents the tribute, in collaboration with The Montgomery County Commission on Veterans Affairs and the Sons of the American Legion. The American Legion post 41 is located at 905 Sligo Ave. in Silver Spring.
