Downtown Silver Spring to Host First-Ever Chalk Fest

Chalk Riot, a D.C.-based pavement art company, and Downtown Silver Spring have teamed up to host the first-ever Downtown Silver Spring Chalk Fest.

The event will be held on April 29 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Ellsworth Drive between Fenton Street and Georgia Avenue.

The event will include the unveiling of a new 400-foot-long street mural, and two opportunities for the public to get involved in the art: a community chalk zone that is open for doodling, or a reserved 7’x7’ box which can be reserved here. Additionally, professional artists will be at the event giving demonstrations.

No registration is necessary for the community zone. All supplies will be provided, and there will also be food and drinks from restaurants in Downtown Silver Spring.
