The Montgomery County Police Department Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a fatal collision involving a bicyclist on Sunday, June 1, on Bramblewood Drive in Norbeck.
Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to Bramblewood Drive around 4 p.m., responding to a report of a collision involving a bicyclist.
Investigation determined that Joel Allen Katz, 85, of Silver Spring was cycling on the 15000 block of Bramblewood Drive when he was struck by a driver of a 2015 Mercedes Benz backing out of a driveway. Katz was hospitalized with serious injuries.
On Saturday, June 7, Katz died of his injuries while in the hospital.
