Fall Recreation Events Offer Family Fun

Montgomery County Recreation has launched a list of community events this fall.

Family Paint & Sip is a paint party for families on Oct. 7. There is a $25 fee, which includes painting materials, food, and drinks. One adult and three children over the age of six-years-old are included in each cost. The event will be held at the Mid-County Community Recreation Center and is scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 p.m.

Kids Day Out, which is a program for elementary students enrolled in a Montgomery County Public School to enjoy activities out of school, is set for Oct. 9. There are 14 locations that the full-day event will include, starting at 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. There is not cost to participate, however, those that do must bring lunch.

There will also be an event for older residents on Oct. 9, which has already hit registration capacity. Those 55 and older will tour the Woodend Nature Sanctuary in Chevy Chase as part of Senior Adventures Camp. The free event includes transportation and food. It will begin at Nancy H. Dacek North Potomac Community Recreation Center.

Family Skate Night is a free roller skating event for families at Plum Gar Community Recreation Center. It will be on Oct. 13th from 6 to 9 p.m. Everyone is permitted to skate, but children under eight must be supervised. Registration is required.

More fall-inspired activities hosted by Montgomery County Recreation are scheduled for the duration of October.
