Once named the number one Haunted Attraction in America, Field of Screams will go quiet this fall.
The popular Halloween attraction hosted by the Olney Boys and Girls Club will be closed for renovations, according to a letter posted on their website.
“After much thought and planning, we have decided that Field of Screams Maryland (FOSMD) will not open for the 2025 season. Instead, we are going all in on a massive, long-awaited transformation of our entire trail and infrastructure!!”
Just last year, the Field delayed its opening to accommodate permitting challenges with the county. The perennial favorite also got negative reviews from neighbors due to traffic and safety concerns.
Haunted but undaunted, the Field promises an even more immersive experience in 2026. In their words, “…taking every part of Field of Screams Maryland to a whole new level.”
Operated by Steelhead Events, FOSMD tells disappointed patrons, “…the payoff is going to be worth every second of the wait.”
