Gaithersburg Awarded Federal Dollars to Design Safety Plan

Gaithersburg City was awarded $360,00 from the federal government to design a comprehensive safety action plan that would eliminate fatal and serious crashes.

The grant is from Safe Streets and Roads for All and is part of the federal bipartisan infrastructure law.

City officials participated in the Local Infrastructure Hub (LIH)’s “bootcamps,” led by the National League of Cities (NLC). These free training bootcamps helped Gaithersburg submit a winning proposal.

Gaithersburg is one of 30 cities that participated in the bootcamps and secured funding.
