Good Counsel Alum Snyder Qualifies for Third Straight Olympics

Kyle Snyder, a native of Woodbine and graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, punched his ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games over the weekend.

This summer’s Olympics will mark Snyder’s 10th straight year representing the United States internationally.

Snyder went 179-0 in three years at Good Counsel, forgoing his senior year to compete internationally.

Since then, Snyder became the youngest Olympic gold medalist in American wrestling history. HeĀ is also the youngest wrestler ever to win the world, NCAA, and Olympic championships in the same year.

Snyder won three state titles at Good Counsel, three NCAA titles at Ohio State, and has amassed 30 gold medals on the international stage.
