Good Hope Road Project to be Discussed at MCDOT Public Meeting

The Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on April 26 to discuss progress on the Good Hope Road Shared Use Path Extension project in Silver Spring.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Briggs Chaney Middle School in Silver Spring. For those who wish to attend the meeting virtually, online registration is required.

The Good Hope Road Shared Use Path Extension project will provide more space for pedestrians and bicyclists. The plan includes an 8-foot-wide shared use path on the east side of Good Hope Road. The shared use path will run from Rainbow Drive to the entrance to Spencerville Local Park. Additionally, there will be a 5-foot-wide grass buffer.

According to the Montgomery Department of Transportation (MCDOT), the extension will create a safe connection for pedestrians and bicyclists to travel to the local park, nearby schools and the Good Hope Neighborhood Recreation Center.
