I-270 Overturned Tractor-Trailer Causes Slowdowns Across Urbana

Update: The tractor trailer has been moved to the right shoulder, but drivers will continue to experience delays.

An overturned tractor-trailer halted traffic Wednesday morning on I-270 northbound near Dr. Perry Road. The vehicle crashed into the I-270 left guardrail just after Exit 22 and currently blocks all northbound lanes of traffic.

Driving? Here’s what you need to know:

Northbound traffic is being diverted MD-109, and drivers can expect significant delays going both north and southbound, according to an X post from the Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination (MATOC).

Extended road closures and southbound rubbernecking delays “begin before MD-80.” Northbound drivers should expect delays to begin before “MD-121,” the MATOC post said.
