Fired federal workers filled the Silver Spring Civic Building on Wednesday to seek local job opportunities. More than 1,200 people registered for the job fair, according to volunteers.
The career fair was open to federal employees as well as other job seekers. Event sponsors included the county, the University of Maryland Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement, the state Department of Labor, and Civic Match.
