The annual Laytonsville Community Parade kicks off Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m., rain or shine.
The parade features colorful floats, horses, marching bands, and local organizations. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Our Community Spirit.” The one-mile parade begins at Sundown/Brink Roads and Route 108, ending at Maple Knoll Drive.
The Laytonsville Lions Club and the Town of Laytonsville sponsor the event.
After the parade, family fun continues with a Fun Run and Spring Festival at Laytonsville Elementary School. The Lions Community Outreach Foundation’s Mobile Health Unit will offer free screenings at the festival. Tests include vision, hearing, eye pressure, and preschool vision checks.
Community groups can still join the parade. Registration is free at www.laytonsvillelions.org. Cash prizes will be awarded at the end of the parade.
