Local car dealership donates to support public schools

Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville received a donation to support student career programs during a recent school assembly.

A $3,000 donation by the automotive group DARCARS will be used to support the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, according to Montgomery County Public Schools.

The school system’s CTE programs offer “career clusters” of study for high schoolers to help them prepare for their future goals. Paint Branch offers programs likeĀ media, science and finance.

Students also got backpacks during last week’s assembly, per a news release.

Last month, MCPS got a $230,000 donation from DARCARS to cover more than 80,000 meals for students. During that presentation, Jamie Darvish, owner of DARCARS Automotive Group and DARCARS Toyota, called the company a “community-driven organization and is always activating to help throughout the year.”
