Long Branch Library Will Host Dental Health Fair April 22

The Long Branch Library in Silver Spring is hosting a dental health fair on Saturday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Attendees will be able to find dental care resources, learn dental health tips, receive a complimentary dental screening, and receive assistance locating dental care. Dental screenings will be offered by the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, according to the event flyer.

The Long Branch Library is located at 8800 Garland Ave in Silver Spring. No appointment is needed and participants can just drop-in. If possible, participants are encouraged to attend based on the following times:

  • 11-noon             General Public, all ages
  • noon-1:30 pm  Children and families
  • 1:30-3 pm         General Public, all ages

The health fair is part of the Narratives and Medical Education (NAME) Project. NAME is an experimental National Institutes of Health funded project that brings together different disciplines focusing on the role of racism in health care, specifically in dental care disparities.

The fair is co-sponsored by the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, the University of Maryland Libraries at the Universities at Shady Grove and the Montgomery County Public Libraries.
