Police said a man died after a reported shooting Thursday in the Fairland area near Burtonsville.
Gavin St. Aubyn Boothe, 43, of Beltsville was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
Officers found him on the road next to the Exxon gas station in the 3000 block of Briggs Chaney Road with an apparent gunshot wound, according to police.
Currently, no suspect is in custody. Officers and fire-rescue personnel were dispatched around 7:45 p.m. for the reported shooting.
It is being investigated as a homicide. An autopsy will determine the cause and manner of death.
