A Rockville man was sentenced to a year in prison in the death of a man who died from fentanyl intoxication, according to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office (MCSAO).

In June, Teymour Peters, 22, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for the death of 20-year-old Kevin Ourand of Rockville.

Ourand’s cause of death was determined to be fentanyl intoxication, per MCSAO. His mother found him dead in her basement in Oct. 2022, according to MCSAO.

On Monday, Peters was sentenced to 10 years in prison with all but one year suspended, plus five years of supervised probation after release, per MCSAO.

He also served seven months pre-trial and is not getting credit for that.

According to MCSAO, Peters sold Ourand pills while Peters was aware the pills contained fentanyl, based on messages from Ourand’s phone. The pills were blue and stamped with the letter M and number 30 to mimic prescription medication.
