Primary Election Day is here and as the final voting activity gets underway below is some key information to consider if you are hitting the polls today.
What are the polling hours?
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Can you still vote if registering same day?
Yes, same day registration is possible. Arrive at the polls with a form of identification that proves Maryland residency. Examples could include a driver’s license, bank statements, or a paycheck.
Do you have to show an ID to vote?
No. You don’t need to show identification, but it’s helpful to have just in case you haven’t made the identification requirements.
How do I find the closest polling place?
Visit voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/PollingPlaceSearch and enter your information to locate the closest station to you.
What if I’m registered to vote, but didn’t early vote or submit a mail-in ballot?
You still have the opportunity to vote. Just go to a polling place nearby to vote in person.
Has the mail-in ballot deadline passed?
Yes, the deadline was June 19.
What should I do if my mail-in ballot or replacement ballot never arrived, or I lost it?
Go to a nearby polling place. Election officials will assist you in receiving a provisional ballot.
When did early voting end?
June 18 at 8 p.m.
Who can vote in Maryland’s closed primary system?
Registered democrats are only authorized to vote for democratic candidates. Registered republicans can only vote for republican candidates. Registered independents are not authorized to vote in closed primaries.
If voting ends at 8 p.m. but I’m standing in line, can I still vote?
Yes – anyone that is in the polling line by 8 p.m. is still eligible to vote.
