The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is investigating the fatal shooting of a Silver Spring resident on Interstate 70 in Frederick County.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim, 20-year-old Eduardo Alexander Alvarado Urrea, dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a trauma center with gunshot wounds.
The car held four other passengers. Three were uninjured, and the fourth declined treatment after being evaluated at the scene.
Early findings reveal that the victims were shot at from another vehicle at about 11:40 p.m. on June 14 after leaving an event at Frederick Fairgrounds at approximately. Officers later found the vehicle in the 600 block of Lakeview Drive in Mount Airy.
Maryland State Police ask anyone with dash-cam footage from eastbound I-70 between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on June 14 to call the Frederick Barrack at 301-600-4150. Police also encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
