Metrobus Offers New Nighttime ‘Courtesy Stops’

Starting on Sunday, June 25, nighttime Metrobus riders can request “courtesy stops” from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. This new service gives riders the option to get off the bus between the usual designated stops and closer to their destination.

Metrobus will offer these requested stops in an effort to put customer safety first during the darkest hours of the day. It’s part of a campaign to provide a safer, better bus experience for its riders.

The bus driver will determine if the request is safe. If yes, the bus will pull over to the curb and allow the customer to exit via the front door.  Drivers will exercise their discretion when releasing passengers in busy traffic areas or near intersections where no curbs or place of safety for a pedestrian is available.
