Milestone for Montgomery College women’s hoops coach

Montgomery College women’s basketball coach Tarlouh Gasque was honored recently for winning her 300th career game at the school. The milestone marks a huge moment not only for Gasque, but for the Raptors athletics department and the legacy of women’s basketball at MC.

“I’m in this for mentorship,” Gasque said. “I love these young ladies. I love to see them succeed.”

Gasque has led the women’s basketball program since 2006. She has winning records in 14 of the 16 seasons she has coached the Raptors. “I still play the game. I enjoy the sport and I like to see women’s basketball succeed,” Gasque said.

For nearly two decades, Gasque has guided the program through roster changes, the challenges of the COVID-19 era, while maintaining a high standard of performance and academic commitment.

“Players today have so much coming at them off the court but basketball teaches them how to deal with adversity,” Gasque said.

Beyond coaching, she serves as the Athletics Director since 2016, guiding multiple MC teams to success both on the court and in the classroom.
