Montgomery County Under Flash Flood Watch Beginning 3 P.M. Thursday

Montgomery County is under a Flash Flood Watch from 3-10 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Rain and thunderstorms are forecasted for the Baltimore-Washington region, NWS said, and some storms might be severe. A Flash Flood Watch has also been issued in Howard, Carroll, Frederick, Cecil and Harford counties and the Baltimore area.

According to Montgomery County Emergency Management and Homeland Security, a Flash Flood Watch means flash flooding might be possible, while a Flash Flood Warning means that flash flooding is happening and residents should go to higher ground.

NWS tells residents to monitor forecasts and be ready to take steps if a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
