Montgomery County’s on-demand bus service to end in Rockville, Glenmont-Wheaton

Ride On’s Flex On-Demand service in Rockville and the Glenmont-Wheaton areas will no longer be offered starting July 1.

Flex On-Demand allows riders to call and book a ride. It has no fixed stops or schedules.

The Rockville and Glenmont-Wheaton services areas “had low ridership,” according to a Montgomery County Department of Transportation spokesperson, so a decision was made not to include them in the fiscal year 2027 county budget, which was finalized in May.

The last day of operation for this service in the discontinued areas is June 30. Flex On-Demand service will continue in the Sandy Spring and White Oak areas.

Residents can submit comments about the change to RideOn.FlexCustomerService@montgomerycountymd.gov.
