It’s the goal of most basketball players to participate in the NCAA tournament.

For hoopers that developed their game in Montgomery County, that aspiration to play in college basketball’s marquee event was achieved this season.

Nelson, a Clarksburg native, scored 6 points grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 2 assists in Duke’s regional win over Baylor to advance to the Sweet 16.

Nelson and Duke will play LSU Friday night in Sacramento, California.

Eric Reibe, also played at Bullis, and is now in the NCAA tournament playing for Connecticut. The freshman center has averaged 6 points and 4 rebounds a game. Reibe scored 4 points in UConn’s win over UCLA to move on to the Sweet 16.

UConn plays Michigan State Friday night at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
