Montgomery Parks Celebrates Disability Pride

On Saturday, July 26th, Montgomery Parks hosts an event in honor of the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Disability Pride Month. This free event will take place at the Black Hill Discovery Center from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Montgomery Parks has partnered with the Montgomery County Commission on People with Disabilities, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of General Services Office of Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance for this event. 

Activities will include kayaking, pontoon boating, fishing, birding, adaptive mountain biking, hiking, picnicking, and exploring the Black Hill Discovery Center. To participate register at Eventbrite. 

Accessibility features will include a wheelchair accessible shuttle, accessible parking, ASL interpretation services, sensory retreat tents, support staff, and additional volunteers.
