Montgomery Parks Seeks Community Input on New Park in Bethesda

Montgomery Parks is looking for ideas for a new park in downtown Bethesda.

The Bethesda Market Park project will transform two parking lots across from the historic Montgomery Farm Women’s Cooperative Market into a park. Once complete, the park and the nearby Elm Street Urban Park will bring four acres of urban green space to downtown Bethesda.

Montgomery Parks will host two public in-person meetings in March to present concepts for the parks and gather input from the community. Each meeting will include a presentation of the plan followed by an interactive session where the community will have the opportunity to provide feedback.

The first meeting is on Wednesday, March 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The meeting will be in Jane E. Lawton Community Recreation Center’s Social Hall in Chevy Chase.

The second meeting is on Thursday, March 16 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The meeting will be in Bethesda Elementary School in the All Purpose Room.

Those interested in attending either meeting can register online.
