On Wednesday morning, a U.S. Postal Service van struck a pedestrian near the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Plyers Mill Road in Kensington.
The driver remained on the scene while Good Samaritans ran to help the victim until police and Fire and Rescue arrived.
Thursday, the Montgomery County Police Department released the name of the deceased pedestrian. 64-year-old Mairi Nicola Morrison of Garrett Park died after being transported to a local hospital.
Detectives from the county police department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate the incident.
CRU detectives ask anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call 240-773-6620.
