Montgomery County native Monica Blakely made a name for herself and Passion For Ezra, the small business she owns with her husband Taylor, last year by designing a jacket for Donna Kelce, mother of Super Bowl LVII participants Jason and Travis Kelce.
Mrs. Kelce was shown wearing the jacket during the game and not surprisingly, the jacket went viral and Blakely’s small business took off.
A year later, Blakely and her husband are still doing all the work by themselves but getting many more orders.
Last week, she and her husband Taylor received a rush order for two Kansas City Chiefs jackets – one with quarterback Patrick Mahomes name and number and one with Travis Kelce’s name and number. She flew home a day early from the family’s annual “reset” vacation in the Caribbean to fulfill the order on time.
“As a small business owner, we can’t afford to miss opportunities,” Blakely told MCM.
The jackets were hand-delivered Sunday morning to M&T Bank Stadium — for a client whose identity Blakely would not reveal — in time for the Chiefs’ game against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game.

The Blakleys will be going to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas next week where Monica will be honored as the Washington Commanders Fan of the Year.
She told MCM she will be attending many events that week and will be wearing custom outfits for each of them. “We plan on being everywhere for the Super Bowl and flooding our social media pages,” Blakely said.
Her jackets will be featured in commercials for Kind bars, HEYDUDE shoes and Campbell’s Soup.
MCM asked Blakely if she plans on meeting Travis Kelce’s girlfriend — aka Taylor Swift — at the Super Bowl. “That’s a dream. I always strive to meet other powerful women with any move with my business,” she said.
