On Monday, July 7, around 12:05 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to the report of a collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Muncaster Mill Road and Applewood Lane.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Buick Envision crossed over the opposing lane of traffic and hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk. The reason for the collision remains unknown. The driver of the Buick remained at the scene.
The pedestrian, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Montgomery County Police Department Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating this fatality.
